The Medieval Reading Group The Medieval Reading Group

A timetable for Michaelmas Term appears below. To temper Lenten asceticism, this term's Medieval Reading Group theme will be 'Excess'. We will interrogate how surfeits, of food and drink, of love, of religious devotion, function as modes of expression. At each meeting, a brief paper will be followed by an open discussion of set readings. Photocopies of the material will be available outside the English faculty graduate common room at least one week before the meeting. All meetings will be held in the English Building (Sidgwick Site), room S-R 24 at 5.15pm

If you have any suggestions for texts to discuss at MRG meetings, or if you would like to present a paper at a MRG meeting, please contact Linda Bates (lrb28@cam.ac.uk) or Virginia Langum (vel23@cam.ac.uk), who are the current programme convenors.
